The Globe

T5

T5 landside, The Globe is your pre-security pub option

The Globe sits in Heathrow Terminal 5 landside before security, so it works best if you’re meeting someone, arriving early, or waiting on a delayed pickup. You can’t use it during a tight connection because you’d have to re-clear security to reach your gate in T5A, T5B, or T5C. Think of it as your last normal pub stop before you commit to the airside world of fast food and champagne bars.

Terminal 5 doesn’t give exact hours online, but regulars report that most landside spots run roughly 05:00 to 22:00, and The Globe broadly follows that pattern. Early-morning fry-up before a 07:00 departure is usually fine, but a midnight pint after a late arrival generally isn’t. If you’re landing on an evening long-haul, check timing in the arrivals hall before you count on it for food.

Price-wise, assume typical Heathrow pub levels: around £6–£7 for a pint and £15–£20 for mains. Think burgers, fish and chips, and curry rather than tasting menus. You’re paying airport markup, but not fine-dining money. It’s still cheaper than many T5 airside champagne/seafood counters where a glass easily hits £15.

Food reports on The Globe at T5 are sparse and middle-of-the-road, so treat it as a safe, standard option. Expect reheated pub staples and a short drinks list with a few UK lagers and ales on tap. If you just want a burger and a beer before saying goodbye at departures, it does the job better than the grab-and-go chains scattered through the terminal.

Practical tip: build in an extra 30–40 minutes after you leave The Globe to clear security and walk to the T5A gates; add more if you know you’ll be bussed or taking the transit to T5B or T5C.
