T2’s itsu is your quick Asian-style option after security

itsu in Heathrow Terminal T2 sits airside after security, on the main departures level, and focuses on lighter Asian-inspired food rather than burgers or pub fare. It’s a familiar UK high-street brand, so the menu looks similar to what you’d see in central London: sushi boxes, rice bowls, hot noodle soups, salads, and snacks built around vegetables, salmon, and chicken. Expect fast casual service with counter ordering and either takeaway packaging or a small seating area, depending on the current layout.

Prices sit in the mid-range for Heathrow, typically below the full-service restaurants in T2 and above a grab-and-go sandwich stand. Sushi and salad boxes usually land in the £7–£12 bracket, with hot rice or noodle dishes sometimes creeping a bit higher once you add extra protein or sides. Drinks run from bottled water and soft drinks to canned iced teas and similar. You’re paying an airport premium, but not as steep as some sit-down spots along the T2 concourse.

The menu usually includes classics like salmon sushi sets, veggie sushi, chicken teriyaki rice bowls, and miso soup, plus vegan options clearly marked on the boards above the counter. If you need something you can eat at the gate in under 10 minutes, a pre-packed sushi box or salad is the safest move. Hot dishes can take a few extra minutes at busy departure banks when several widebodies go out around the same hour from T2.

Opening hours at T2 itsu track peak departure times, so you’ll generally find it open from early morning before the first wave of flights until at least the late-evening departures, though exact times shift with the schedule. If you’re tight on time before a Star Alliance flight out of T2, join the queue with your order in mind; the menu boards are big, but deciding while you’re already at the till keeps you moving and reduces your wait at the gate.
