Terminal 2 Short Stay

Short stay

90-second covered walk to T2 check-in

Heathrow Terminal 2 Short Stay sits directly opposite the T2 building, with a covered walkway that takes about 1–2 minutes to reach the departures level. It’s a classic short-stay multi-storey car park, best suited to drop-offs, pick-ups, and same-day trips through T2 rather than longer holidays.

This is an official Heathrow car park serving only T2, so it lines up cleanly with flights on airlines like Lufthansa, United, and Singapore Airlines that use this terminal. Entry is barrier-controlled with ANPR (number plate recognition) and pay-on-exit machines inside the car park, so you drive straight in and sort the bill when you’re leaving.

Pricing runs on an hourly sliding scale and gets expensive fast after the first few hours, so most people use Terminal 2 Short Stay for 30-minute to 6-hour stops rather than multi-day parking. Payment terminals accept major cards and contactless, and there’s a help button at each machine if the ANPR doesn’t pick you up correctly on exit.

Spaces are in a multi-level structure with marked blue-badge bays near lifts on the lower levels, and height limits apply to taller vehicles and vans. Lifts run directly from parking levels to the pedestrian bridge into T2, so you avoid crossing roadways and can wheel standard 23 kg checked bags straight from car to check-in.

There’s no shuttle bus from Terminal 2 Short Stay because you’re already beside T2, and it’s not practical if you’re actually flying from T3, T4, or T5. If you’re meeting an arrival, aim to enter the car park 15–20 minutes after scheduled landing so you’re not burning high short-stay rates while they’re still in immigration.

Tip: Take a quick photo of your level and zone number before walking to the terminal; T2 Short Stay’s repeating layout makes it easy to spend 5–10 extra minutes hunting for your car after a long-haul.
