Terminal 5’s main BA lounge sits past security for all T5 flights

This is the British Airways Galleries Club Lounge in Terminal 5, used by BA passengers on short- and long-haul flights. It’s airside in T5, so you need a boarding pass for T5 departures; you can’t use it if you’re flying from T3 or T2.

The lounge sits in the T5 complex, so it works for gates in the A, B, and C satellite piers, but walking to T5C can take around 15 minutes. If your boarding pass shows a bus gate from T5A, leave the lounge at least 30 minutes before departure to avoid a rushed boarding.

BA runs this as a standard business-class level lounge, below the First and Concorde Room tiers in Terminal 5. Access is typically for BA Club Europe / Club World and oneworld Sapphire and Emerald flying from T5; paid day passes are not widely available and often not sold at the door.

Expect self-service hot food with a rotating lineup at the main buffet during core meal periods, often including at least one vegetarian main. Cold options usually cover salad, bread, and snacks; quality sits a notch above high-street grab-and-go in the rest of T5, but it’s not restaurant-grade dining.

Drinks run from bean-to-cup coffee machines to a selection of spirits and wine, all included once you’re in. You’ll usually find standard labels rather than premium champagne, so if you’re picky, you may prefer to buy something specific in the T5 duty-free shops and save the lounge for soft drinks and coffee.

Seating ranges from work-style desks with power outlets to armchairs near the windows, and power can be hit or miss away from the main work zones. If you need to charge a laptop or phone, grab a spot near the high tables or business area as soon as you enter from the main T5 concourse.

For a practical play, check your gate on the big screens near the entrance, then set a timer on your phone for 40 minutes before departure if you’re on a non-Schengen long-haul flight, and start walking when it fires. That buffer usually covers even the furthest T5 pier without stress.
