For Lafayette Regional (LFT), Long Term Parking is the default move once your trip runs past a day or two. The lot sits about 0.3 miles from the terminal, and the walk clocks in around 10 minutes at a normal pace. You trade the closer Short Term stalls for a much lower daily rate, but you’re still on foot the whole way instead of dealing with shuttles.

Pricing is simple: Long Term Parking runs $9.00 per day, with no confusing premium tiers or segmented zones. It’s a standard long-stay surface lot, so think basic marked spaces rather than covered parking or fancy extras. LFT is a small field, so that 0.3-mile distance feels more like a quick airport stroll than a hike across a mega-hub lot.

There’s no shuttle loop here, which at some bigger airports would be a problem, but at LFT the 10-minute walk usually beats waiting 15–20 minutes for a bus. For early morning departures around 5:00–6:00 a.m., build a little extra time in case you end up on the far end of the lot. At $9 per day, this is the budget option versus Short Term, which runs higher for the convenience of being closer.

Practical tip: plan your timing backwards: add 10 minutes for the walk, another 10–15 minutes to clear security, and then pick your arrival time off your actual departure. For a 7:00 a.m. flight, rolling into Long Term Parking by 5:30 a.m. keeps things low stress at this smaller airport.
