B Open · angepasst an den Flugplan $$$$ Landside

Terminal B landside, Zigolini Caffe & Bar sits before security.

You find it in Terminal B, outside the checkpoints, which works well if you’re early or meeting someone at Leipzig/Halle Airport. It runs “angepasst an den Flugplan,” so opening hours track departures instead of a fixed 9–5 schedule. Price tier is the budget end of airport dining ($), more bakery-counter than full restaurant.

This is a straight café-bar setup: espresso, soft drinks, beer, and simple snacks rather than hot plated meals. Expect basic pastries and small bites under about €5, with coffee in the €3–€4 range. The bar side usually covers standard German beers and a short list of spirits; nothing rare, but it’s enough for a quick pre-flight drink or a beer while you wait for arrivals from, say, Frankfurt or Munich.

Because Zigolini sits outside security in Terminal B, it works for both departing and arriving passengers as well as people not flying. If you’re connecting from Zentralterminal to B and still landside, this is one of the few spots where you can sit down with a drink without committing to security lines yet. Power outlets are limited, so don’t count on charging a laptop for a three-hour work session here.

Service style is more “order at the counter, pay, and take a seat” than table service, which keeps things moving when several Schengen departures leave within the same 30-minute window. Seating is standard terminal chairs and a few bar-height tables; it’s fine for 20–30 minutes with a cappuccino, less so for a long layover. Staff typically switch focus based on the flight plan, so expect quicker service in the 60 minutes before major departures from Terminal B.

Tip: if you want a slow coffee and still need to clear security in Terminal B, finish your drink and head for the checkpoint at least 25–30 minutes before boarding time.
