Duty Free

Prices are standard UK duty free, not LBA-specific bargains

World Duty Free sits airside after security at Leeds Bradford, directly on the main path from security to the departure gates. You’re funneled through it, so you won’t miss it, but it’s worth knowing this is the only true duty free shop in the terminal. Expect the usual UK airport mix of spirits, perfume, cosmetics, confectionery and some tobacco rather than local curiosities.

On spirits, you’ll see the familiar 1L and 2x1L promo bundles, often around £30–£40 for mainstream whisky, gin and vodka brands. Perfume and cosmetics mirror other World Duty Free outlets across the UK, with gift sets at fixed RRP and occasional “travel exclusive” packs. If you fly to non-EU destinations, you can buy full duty free allowances; for EU flights, it’s more “tax paid” airport pricing than huge discounts.

The shop usually opens from the first departures wave until the last evening flights, so figure roughly 04:00 until around the final 21:00–22:00 departures, though exact times track the schedule. Queues spike about 60–90 minutes before busy holiday flights, especially in summer. If you’re tight on time, skip browsing the fragrance wall and head straight along the main aisle toward your gate.

There’s a small selection of sweets and travel snacks near the tills, with multipack chocolate and bags of Haribo typically in the £4–£10 range. You won’t find much in the way of Yorkshire-specific gifts beyond the odd branded tin or generic shortbread. Best move is to decide in advance what bottle or fragrance you actually want so you’re not stuck comparing prices when your boarding gate appears on the screen.
