Shuttle runs between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 every few minutes
The Terminal 1–Terminal 3 Inter-Terminal Shuttle is the airport’s own bus linking LAS terminals 1 and 3 on the airside/landside loop. It’s free, runs throughout the day, and saves you from guessing between rideshare or a long walk plus the inter-terminal tram for the wrong side of the airport.
The shuttle stop at Terminal 1 sits near Zero Level, just outside baggage claim and ground transportation, while the Terminal 3 stop is by the public transportation and shuttles area on the arrivals level. Signs in both terminals list “Inter-Terminal Shuttle” with arrows, so follow those before you follow generic “shuttle” or “buses” signs that lead to hotel vans instead.
Typical published wait is under 15 minutes, and the actual ride between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 usually runs about 7–10 minutes depending on ramp traffic. The bus loops only between these two terminals, so you do not have to guess which direction to board or worry about extra hotel stops adding time.
The shuttle works for both arrivals and departures, so if you land at Terminal 1 on Spirit or Southwest but fly out later from Terminal 3 on an international airline, you can switch terminals without paying a rideshare fare that often hits $15–$25 for a two-mile hop. Luggage goes with you on the bus; no extra bag fees or tickets needed.
Shuttles are standard airport buses with standing room and onboard handrails, so during peaks around the 6 a.m.–9 a.m. and 4 p.m.–8 p.m. bank they can feel packed. If you’re rolling two or more large checked bags through LAS, budget an extra 10 minutes to let one crowded bus pass and catch the next one with more space.
Step-by-step: using the T1–T3 inter-terminal shuttle
- 1. After landing, clear the jet bridge and follow signs to baggage claim in Terminal 1 or Terminal 3.
- 2. Once at baggage claim, follow overhead signs for “Ground Transportation” and then for “Inter-Terminal Shuttle.”
- 3. Exit the building at the signed door; at Terminal 1 this is near Zero Level, and at Terminal 3 it’s at the arrivals curb where other shuttles line up.
- 4. Wait at the marked “Terminal 1–Terminal 3 Shuttle” stop; typical headway is under 15 minutes during normal daytime hours.
- 5. Board when the driver opens the doors, bring bags onboard with you, and hold the handrails if standing.
- 6. Ride about 7–10 minutes until the next terminal stop, then exit and follow signs back inside to check-in or security.
Build the buffer: add 30 minutes gate-to-gate if your connection forces a Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 swap or the reverse.
