Public parking at Ketchikan (KTN) really means two separate pay-by-plate lots: one on Revillagigedo Island on the city side, and one on Gravina Island next to Terminal T and the airport ferry dock. The Revillagigedo lot runs $3.50 per 24 hours at the pay station, while the Gravina (airport) lot runs $5.50 per 24 hours at its machines, so the side you choose hits your bill every single day you’re gone.

Rates jump slightly if you use VenPay instead of the Ventek pay stations: $3.85 per 24 hours on Revillagigedo and $5.85 on Gravina, all because of the app’s service fee. Regulars stick with the physical machines inside the Revilla Passenger Waiting Facility and on the first and second floors of the airport terminal to dodge that extra $0.35 per day.

Payment is by license plate only now — no more stall numbers — so a single digit wrong on your Alaska plate can mean a ticket even if you paid. Locals literally keep a photo of their plate on their phone so they can key it in at the machine in under 30 seconds and avoid typos.

Sessions bill in 24-hour blocks, not calendar days, so a 26-hour trip costs you for two full days at $3.50, $3.85, $5.50, or $5.85 depending on lot and method. Parking is also non-refundable; if you pay for 5 days in the Gravina lot at $5.50/day and come back on day 3, that extra $11 is gone.

On the city side, many Ketchikan residents leave their cars in the cheaper Revillagigedo lot at $3.50/day, then ride the airport ferry across as foot passengers. On the airport side, the Gravina lot sits a short walk from Terminal T, but you’re paying roughly $2 more per 24 hours for that proximity.

Practical tip: Park first, confirm which island you’re on (Revillagigedo vs Gravina), then pay at a terminal pay station with your exact license plate and return time in mind before you board the ferry or head upstairs.
