International Departure Lounge

T1 Open · 8:00〜22:00

At KIX T1, “International Departure Lounge” basically means the whole post‑immigration concourse.

This isn’t a single branded room with a door; in Terminal T1 the “International Departure Lounge” label covers the shared airside area after security and immigration, open 8:00〜22:00. Airlines then layer their own lounges on top of that, so signs can feel confusing if you arrive expecting one unified pay-in space.

Once you clear outbound security and passport control in T1, signs for “International Departure Lounge” point you into the main departures level where the airline lounges sit behind their own doors. Access here is through those airline lounges only, not a generic pay-at-the-desk operation. If you don’t hold status or a premium cabin ticket with a T1 airline, plan on using the public seating and restaurants in this same concourse zone instead.

The 8:00〜22:00 operating window matters if you’re on late-night departures from KIX T1, especially some Southeast Asia or Oceania flights that can push closer to midnight. After 22:00 you should assume that airline lounges in this “International Departure Lounge” area either close or start winding down service, even if your gate is still boarding down the hall. Build the buffer and eat or shop earlier in the evening.

Gate assignments in T1 are spread along a long pier, so walking times between the central “International Departure Lounge” area and outer gates can run 10–15 minutes. If your boarding pass shows a bus gate or far-end number, don’t sit deep inside an airline lounge until T-20 and expect miracles; KIX layout is linear and not forgiving if you misjudge distance.

Because this is an airline-lounge-access zone, prices you see inside for food or drinks depend on which carrier’s lounge you enter rather than a shared menu. Some lounges in T1 lean heavily on packaged snacks and soft drinks, while others put more budget into hot dishes and alcohol; if your ticket gives you a choice, ask at check-in which lounge your airline uses and look up that specific lounge’s reviews before you commit.

One practical tip: if your KIX T1 flight departs near the 8:00 opening time, eat landside before security; you might reach the “International Departure Lounge” area before many airline lounges are fully up and running.
