Cathay Pacific Lounge

T1

Emeralds on JL or CX now get sent straight to KIX Lounge Premium.

The Cathay Pacific Lounge name still shows in some materials, but in Terminal 1 at Kansai (KIX) oneworld elites now route into the shared KIX Lounge Premium setup instead of a dedicated CX-branded room. If you hold oneworld Emerald and fly JL or CX out of T1, forum reports confirm you go through the KIX Lounge Premium doors, not a separate Cathay entrance.

Access runs on standard oneworld rules in T1: oneworld Sapphire and Emerald, plus premium-cabin tickets on Cathay Pacific and other oneworld carriers using the terminal, all get in once you clear security for Terminal 1. That means your CX Business Class boarding pass on a single KIX–HKG segment should be enough, while an Emerald flying JL in economy also walks in under the same policy, according to FlyerTalk posts.

There’s no current evidence of a standalone Cathay Pacific Lounge room or separate gate-side CX space at KIX, so planning your time around finding a green-branded doorway wastes minutes you could spend near your actual T1 gate. Regulars on FlyerTalk now talk about “the CX lounge” here as shorthand for whatever oneworld facility matches their KIX departure, usually KIX Lounge Premium for Emeralds on JL or CX.

Food, drink, and seating specifics for this setup at Kansai still change across 2025 as the new lounges settle in, and public menus with dish names or drink brands from KIX Lounge Premium remain thin. That means you shouldn’t bank on a particular Cathay signature noodle or a Hong Kong–style milk tea in Terminal 1 the way you might at CX lounges in HKG or TPE, at least based on current reports from March 2025 threads.

What regulars do is simple: they walk straight from security in Terminal 1 to KIX Lounge Premium following oneworld signage, flash their Emerald card or JL/CX premium boarding pass, and skip any search for Cathay logos. One FlyerTalk post from the March 27, 2025 opening notes explicitly that Emeralds on JL or CX go to KIX Lounge Premium, which sets the pattern for most CX elites using Kansai now.

Practical tip: budget 10–15 minutes after clearing T1 security to reach KIX Lounge Premium, check in under oneworld rules, and still have enough time to walk back to your JL or CX gate before boarding begins about 30–40 minutes prior to departure.
