T1 Post-security

Gate-side bar in T1 with local drinks

Right in Terminal T1 after security, Pub is the main sit-down bar option at Kos International Airport “Ippokratis” (KGS). It sits in the post-security departures area, so you can stay near the gates while you wait for boarding. Seating is basic counter stools and a few small tables, more like a classic airport bar than a full restaurant.

Pub runs through the main departure waves of the day, opening before the first morning flights and staying open into the late evening charter departures from T1. It’s set up first for drinks, then simple snacks, so don’t expect a full multi-course menu or long dining times. Think quick bites between passport control and your gate.

Drinks lean local: you’ll usually see Greek beers like Mythos or Alpha in the fridge and standard spirits lined up behind the bar. Cocktails tend to be basic mixed drinks rather than anything elaborate, and prices are airport-level, with beers often a few euros more than in town. It works for a last Greek beer before your flight from KGS, not for serious cocktail fans.

Food is limited to bar-style options suited to a short T1 layover: packaged snacks, maybe a toastie or simple sandwich, and the occasional pastry. You’re paying for the seat near your gate more than for standout food. If you need a full meal, you might be better off eating in Kos town before heading to the airport, then using Pub only for a drink.

Practical tip: walk past your exact gate first, then double back to Pub in T1 so you know your real distance; boarding at KGS can start early for bus gates, and this bar is easy to linger in longer than planned.
