Welcome Lounge

1 Open · 24 hours

Dinner here stops around 3:30 a.m., breakfast only at 7.

Welcome Lounge in Terminal 1 at Jeddah (JED) runs 24 hours, but that 3:30 a.m.–7:00 a.m. food gap catches a lot of overnight passengers out. Access works on Visa, Mastercard, or straight cash at the door, so you don’t need airline status or a specific ticket type to get in.

The lounge sits airside in Terminal 1, which is the main international terminal alongside Hajj. Flyers on FlyerTalk call this the larger option compared with other T1 lounges, so finding a seat at 2:00 p.m. is usually easier here than in the smaller rooms down the concourse. Still, late-night arrivals around 3:00 a.m. report every couch taken and people spread across the carpet.

Food service follows a rigid schedule: dinner buffet runs until roughly 3:30 a.m., then staff clear everything and nothing returns until breakfast starts at about 7:00 a.m. One review flat-out says “between 3 and 6 a.m. they do not offer any food,” so if your Saudia or foreign carrier flight hits JED in that window, eat in the main terminal first or bring snacks.

Don’t expect showers here. FlyerTalk posters specifically call out that Welcome Lounge in Terminal 1 has no shower rooms at all, which matters if you’re connecting after an overnight sector from Europe or Asia and were planning a rinse before a 9:00 a.m. departure. Restroom facilities are standard airport quality, not spa-style.

There’s no official nap room or daybed zone either. Multiple reviews mention people pushing two couches together to make a bed and others sleeping directly on the floor between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. If you land around midnight and stay until a 6:30 a.m. flight, expect low lights, snoring, and limited clean seating that isn’t occupied by someone lying across it.

Regulars treat Welcome Lounge as a timed pit stop: they go in during the dinner window before 3:30 a.m. or for the breakfast spread after 7:00 a.m., then head back to the terminal for walking space once they’ve eaten. If your layover in Terminal 1 touches that 3:30–7:00 a.m. dead zone, bring a bottle of water from the gate shop and download whatever you want to watch before you sit down; you may end up using the lounge mainly for a chair and an outlet, not for food.
