Terminals

3 terminals at Jacksonville International Airport

Terminal Layout & Organization

Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) is easy to navigate because it operates from one main terminal building (there are no separate terminals to choose from). All airlines, ticketing, and baggage claim are housed under the same roof, and after security you’ll branch into two airside concourses: Concourse A and Concourse C. Both concourses handle domestic flights and any international arrivals that are processed at JAX (there isn’t a standalone “international terminal”). Check your boarding pass and the overhead monitors after security for your concourse and gate—if you head to the wrong side, it’s still a straightforward walk to correct.

Navigation Between Terminals

Since JAX has a single terminal, you won’t need trains or shuttles to move “between terminals.” To get between Concourse A and Concourse C, you’ll walk through the secure airside corridor near the central concessions area. Plan about 5–10 minutes of walking time between concourses (a bit longer if you’re stopping for food or traveling with kids). Wayfinding is generally clear: follow the large overhead signs for “Gates A” or “Gates C”, and use the flight information display screens to confirm any last-minute gate changes.

Traveler-Specific Tips

  • Families: With everything in one terminal, you can minimize backtracking—confirm your gate first, then choose where to eat or shop. Stroller-friendly routes and elevators make it manageable to move from ticketing to security and out to Concourse A or Concourse C. Ask airport staff if you need the nearest family restroom or nursing space, as locations can shift with tenant changes.
  • Business travelers: Set up near the main seating clusters by the central concessions between concourses—this area typically offers the best mix of tables and quick food options. If you’re tight on time, aim to arrive early enough to clear security and still reach either Concourse A or Concourse C in minutes.
  • Travelers with disabilities: JAX’s single-terminal design reduces transfers. Use curbside assistance or request wheelchair service through your airline in advance; accessible restrooms, elevators, and step-free paths connect ticketing, security, and both concourses.
  • Budget travelers: Bring a reusable bottle and top up at water fountains/bottle fillers throughout the terminal and concourses. Seating areas near gates often have charging outlets; if a cluster is full, check nearby columns and under-seat power at some gate benches.

Practical Information

Wi-Fi is available throughout the main terminal and in Concourse A and Concourse C; for the smoothest connection, reconnect after you pass security if your device clings to a weak signal from landside. Power outlets are most reliably found in gate seating zones and near the central concessions area—plug in before boarding announcements begin, as outlets fill quickly.

If you need in-person help, look for the information desks in the landside terminal and ask uniformed airport ambassadors or airline staff at the nearest counter. JAX periodically refreshes concessions and gate areas, so if you encounter a closed hallway or relocated restroom, follow posted detour signs—because it’s one terminal, alternate routes to Concourse A and Concourse C are usually only a short walk away.
