One-minute covered walk to JAX Main Terminal doors

The Hourly Garage at Jacksonville International Airport sits directly across from the Main Terminal, with a walk time of about 1 minute to the check-in counters. This is JAX’s closest covered parking option, aimed at ultra-short visits, drop-offs, pickups, and meetings where proximity matters more than price. It’s signed clearly as “Hourly Garage” as you enter the terminal loop, separate from the Daily Garage and Surface Lot.

Rates run $2 per 30 minutes in the Hourly Garage on the first calendar day, capped at a $26 daily maximum. That 30-minute billing makes quick stays of 1–3 hours relatively reasonable, but anything pushing into full-day or multi-day territory adds up fast compared with the Daily Garage and Surface Lot. Officially it’s classified as short-term parking, and the pricing structure nudges you hard in that direction.

The structure has a posted 7-foot height limit, same as the JAX Daily Garage, so taller pickups, vans with roof racks, and some SUVs will not clear the entrance bar. If your vehicle is close, don’t chance it; airport staff turn oversize cars away at the gate and send them to surface parking. All parking in this garage is covered, including the pedestrian walkways leading toward the Main Terminal doors.

Disabled veterans with DV plates displaying the wheelchair symbol can park free in the Hourly Garage at posted accessible spaces, but vets with standard DV plates without that wheelchair icon pay normal Hourly rates here. The rules are stricter than the Daily Garage, so double-check your plate before pulling a ticket. For most overnight trips, JAX regulars steer to the Daily Garage or Surface Lot, which stay walkable but cost less than $26 per day.

Tip: Use the Hourly Garage mainly for pickups, drop-offs, or same-day meetings under about 4 hours; for anything longer, drive past it and follow signs to the Daily Garage or Surface Lot to avoid premium pricing.
