$8 per day is the rock-bottom on-airport rate at JAX

Economy Lot parking at Jacksonville International runs $8 per day, flat, with taxes and airport fees already baked into that price. That undercuts many off-airport hotel lots once you add in their surcharges and longer transfer times. If you’re leaving the car for a week or more, the math tilts hard toward this lot versus the garages or daily surface options by the terminal.

The Economy Lot sits on airport property serving the Main Terminal and uses shuttle buses to move people to and from the curb. Exact shuttle frequency isn’t published, but plan enough time for a wait plus the short ride instead of cutting it close to departure. Compared with walking out of the terminal into a garage, you trade a little time and convenience for a much lower daily rate.

Published JAX parking info calls out that on-airport prices, including the $8 Economy Lot rate, already include all taxes and fees, while off-airport operators “usually charge advertised rates plus 15%.” Deal-hunters point to that line when comparing a week in Economy against a slightly cheaper-looking coupon from a hotel lot that balloons once those extras hit the bill.

Disabled veterans with DV plates can park free in the Economy Lots under the same rules used for the garages, but that exemption does not apply to Valet. If that’s you, it’s the cheapest long-term option at JAX by a wide margin. Everyone else still gets one of the lowest on-airport daily rates of any mid-size Florida airport.

Regular JAX flyers price out off-airport options, then stick with the Economy Lot when the gap is only a dollar or two per day after that roughly 15% in added fees. Tip: book your return for a flight that lands before the last evening bank if you can, so you’re not waiting as long outside the Main Terminal for an Economy shuttle back to your car.
