JAC Parking Program

Locals flying out of JAC more than a couple times a year should at least run the math on the resident-only JAC Parking Program.

The program applies to the long-stay lot directly next to the Terminal 1 building, so you still park steps from check-in instead of using off-airport shuttles. Rack rate in that lot runs $25 per day, which adds up fast on 5–7 day trips if you’re based in Jackson and flying out several times a year.

Approved locals get that daily rate cut from $25 down to $17 when the JAC Parking Program discount is active. That’s a $8 per day saving, so a 6‑day trip drops from $150 to $102. Over three week-long trips, you’re suddenly talking about $144 back in your pocket while still parking right beside the terminal.

There’s a big catch: the discounted rate is not valid on specified peak dates. The airport publishes blackout periods across summer, fall, winter, and spring; for the 2025–26 season that includes late August, Thanksgiving week, Christmas through New Year’s, and March weekends. If your flights line up with school breaks or holiday weeks, expect to pay the full $25/day.

Once enrolled, you get a unique QR code by email. Regulars pull it up on their phone at the parking gate and scan it at the kiosk before taking a ticket. That step tags your stay for the discounted rate so the system knows to charge $17/day instead of $25 when you settle up.

On return, the entry ticket also carries a QR code you can scan with your phone to pay online, and JAC gives you a 60‑minute grace window from confirming payment to getting out of the lot. That’s enough time to clear baggage claim, walk the short distance back to the long-stay stalls next to the terminal, and pull out without rushing.

The same program also builds in a small rideshare perk: registered users get a $5 discount on each Uber or Lyft ride to or from the airport. Some locals use those ride credits each way on very short trips and skip parking entirely, treating the program as a modest rideshare subsidy instead of a parking discount.

Tip: before booking flights around Thanksgiving, Christmas–New Year, or March weekends, check the current JAC Parking Program blackout calendar so you’re not counting on the $17/day rate and then hit with the full $25/day bill at exit.
