Locals sit in the Cell Phone Lot until flights actually land
The Cell Phone Lot sits in the northeast corner of the Jackson Hole Airport parking area, a short loop drive from Terminal 1. It’s a simple pull-in, park, and wait setup for pickups, used heavily by locals timing their curbside run to the terminal’s one main arrivals area. There’s no fee and no ticket; you just park and stay with the car until your passenger calls from baggage claim or the curb.
This lot sits outside the main paid parking rows, saving you from circling the four primary parking sections near the terminal entrance. JAC is small, and the walk from the terminal doors to the regular parking area takes only a few minutes, so you can leave the Cell Phone Lot as soon as your passenger texts from the single baggage carousel or after they clear the arrivals doors. There’s no shuttle involved at this lot, just a quick drive along the same loop road you used to enter.
There are no bathrooms, no shelter, and no charging stations in the Cell Phone Lot, just marked spaces and a clear view of the airport access road. The tradeoff: you avoid paying the hourly parking rate in the main lot when you’re only waiting 10–20 minutes for a flight to deplane. Keep an eye on the arrivals board or airline app, since delays on the one runway can stack up and extend your wait.
Plan to arrive at the Cell Phone Lot 10–15 minutes after the posted arrival time, then start heading to the terminal as soon as your passenger calls from outside the single main exit doors.
