Gate-side caffeine fix by the departures in Terminal 1

Costa Gatebar sits airside in Terminal 1 at Innsbruck Airport, just past security and close to the main departure gates. It runs “open before departures” daily, so if the terminal is operating, you can usually count on getting a coffee here before your flight. This is the primary branded coffee counter in the post-security area, so lines build quickly on busy ski Saturdays.

The menu follows standard Costa Coffee style: espresso drinks, cappuccinos, lattes, and simple filter coffee, plus soft drinks and bottled water. Prices run a bit higher than downtown Innsbruck cafés, as expected for an airport; budget roughly €3–€4 for basic coffee and more for larger milk drinks or extras. There are usually a few pastries and small snacks on the counter to grab with your drink.

Seating is limited near Costa Gatebar, with only a handful of stools and small tables in the immediate area, so many people just order takeaway and sit near their actual gate. It’s firmly “food and drinks only,” so don’t expect full meals or hot dishes. If you want something more substantial, pair a coffee here with a sandwich from another Terminal 1 spot.

Cards are widely accepted at Costa Gatebar, including major credit cards frequently used by travelers from Germany, the UK, and the rest of the EU. Lines spike about 60–90 minutes before banked departures, especially during winter ski season. Practical move: hit Costa Gatebar right after security instead of waiting until boarding is called, then walk to your gate with coffee in hand.
