Only real sit-down bar past security at ICT
Past TSA in the Main concourse, Air Capital Bar is the airport’s only true post-security sit-down bar with a direct view of the ICT tarmac. If your flight out of Wichita is delayed or you’ve built in a 90-minute buffer, this is where most locals park themselves instead of hovering by the gate seats.
Hours run roughly 10:00 to 17:30 daily, so it works for late-morning and mid-afternoon departures but won’t help with a 06:30 first wave or 19:30-plus evening flights. It’s on the concourse after security, so you can’t duck out landside to anywhere better once you’re through the Main checkpoint.
This is a full-service bar first, food outlet second: expect beer, wine, and simple cocktails, with a light menu that leans to bar snacks and quick bites rather than full plates. If you want an actual sit-down meal with more choices, River City Brewing Co. elsewhere in the airport is the better bet; Air Capital works best for one drink and something to tide you over.
Pricing tracks typical U.S. airport bar rates, so think domestic beers in the high single digits and simple mixed drinks a couple of dollars above downtown Wichita. With only one proper bar airside in the Main concourse, seats can fill up fast during the 15:00–17:00 bank when multiple departures line up.
The bar sits directly on the concourse near the gates, so you keep one eye on the tarmac and the other on your boarding group. There are power outlets at some seats, but not every stool, so plan on at least a 50% phone charge before you settle in.
Practical tip: if your flight leaves after 18:00 from the Main concourse, don’t count on Air Capital Bar being open; grab anything you need by 17:15 at the latest.
