Five-minute walk beats waiting on a shuttle
The Surface Lot at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport sits a short walk from the Main Terminal, so you park, grab your bag, and head straight to check-in without building in extra time for a bus. It’s set up as a long-stay option, so it fits trips that run several days instead of just an overnight.
This is a standard outdoor surface lot, not covered parking, so your car sits in the open Kansas weather a few hundred yards from the terminal doors. If you care about shade in July or ice in January, keep that in mind before you commit to a full week out there. The trade-off is you stay close enough to walk instead of looping around in a remote lot.
For long stays, the Surface Lot usually prices below the closer garage while still keeping you on foot distance from the Main Terminal. That balance makes more sense on four- or five-day trips than paying top tier daily rates just to park 100 feet closer. Check the official ICT parking page on your travel day for current daily pricing before you lock in your plan.
Since the Surface Lot is walk-up from the terminal, build your timing around your airline’s check-in cutoff, not a shuttle schedule. If you want less stress, park at least 90 minutes before a Main Terminal departure and give yourself the extra five minutes to walk, roll your bag on pavement, and find your airline counter without rushing.
