Gate-side burgers in T2
Five minutes from most Korean Air check-in counters in Terminal 2, Shake Shack is the safest fast-food bet if you want something familiar before a long-haul. It sits airside in T2, so you clear security first, then follow the signs in English for the food court and look for the bright green Shack logo.
Prices run higher than in the city: expect around ₩8,000–₩9,000 for a single ShackBurger and roughly ₩6,000–₩7,000 for fries. Portions match other international Shake Shack locations, so a burger, fries, and drink easily hits ₩18,000–₩20,000. For airport standards that’s normal, but it will feel steep compared to Hongdae or Gangnam branches.
Menu is the familiar core lineup: ShackBurger, SmokeShack (check the board, it’s not always listed), crinkle-cut fries, and milkshakes in vanilla, chocolate, and sometimes a seasonal flavor. The kitchen pace tracks boarding waves; on a quiet mid-afternoon you might wait 5–7 minutes, but during evening long-haul banks it can stretch to 15 minutes from order to tray.
There’s basic counter seating plus shared tables in the surrounding T2 food court zone, with outlets at a few seats if you need to top up a phone or laptop before a 12-hour KE flight. You’ll hear regular boarding calls for nearby gates, and it’s roughly a 5–10 minute walk to most remote gates used by Delta and Korean Air partners.
Order a ShackBurger and fries if you want the “standard” flavor; skip trying to customize heavily, since the line staff during rush periods push back on off-menu tweaks to keep orders moving. One practical tip: if your flight leaves in under 40 minutes, ask for your burger “to go,” carry the bag to your gate in T2, and eat while you watch boarding start instead of hovering for a table.
