Mumaz

Mughlai plates and biryani at Mumaz in HYD T1

Mumaz sits airside in Terminal T1 at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, serving Indian and Mughlai food to departing passengers after security. You’ll find it in the main departures food area, so you can sit down and still keep an eye on boarding times on the nearby screens.

The menu at Mumaz leans heavily into curries, biryanis, and tandoor-style items, with prices aimed at typical airport budgets rather than street level Hyderabad. Expect mains to run higher than city restaurants, but still less painful than the international coffee chains a few steps away in T1. Portions usually land closer to full meal size than snack territory.

Service at Mumaz follows the usual airport rhythm, with food arriving faster at off-peak times than during the late-night international bank that fills T1’s departures area. Build at least 45 minutes into your schedule if you plan to sit down for a full biryani or curry before a night departure. Staff are used to passengers cutting it close and can often pace dishes if you mention your gate and boarding time.

Seating here is standard food-court style with tightly packed tables in the T1 departures hall, so carry-on bags share floor space with chairs. It works fine for solo diners or pairs; bigger groups sometimes end up splitting across two tables when the terminal gets busy around the midnight bank of flights. Power outlets can be scarce in this section of the terminal, especially at shared tables.

Payment is straightforward at Mumaz, with cards and UPI accepted alongside cash in Indian rupees at the counter in T1. Bills include applicable airport taxes, so the amount on the printed check is what hits your card terminal screen. If you want a quieter bite, aim for mid-afternoon or late morning, and avoid the 21:00–02:00 international wave when every table in T1’s food zone fills up.
