Near Gate 8 in T1, this is your cheapest caffeine stop

Hatti Kaapi sits just past security in T1 near Gate 8, so it works well if your Indigo or Air India domestic flight boards from that end of the pier. It’s a small standing-room coffee counter, not a lounge, and the menu leans South Indian: strong filter coffee, basic tea, and a few snack items. If you just need a quick jolt before a 6:00 flight, it’s one of the fastest options on this side of the terminal.

Prices land in the $ tier for the airport, with a filter coffee usually under the cost of a bottled water from some convenience stands. You’ll see the usual Hatti Kaapi metal tumbler-and-dabara setup, but most drinks go out in paper cups to keep things moving. Snacks run cheap too, roughly street-cafe levels with an airport markup rather than international-chain pricing.

The core order here is the South Indian filter coffee, pulled strong and milky, which holds up even if you’re racing for a 20:15 departure. Tea is available but less of a draw compared to the coffee. Food is limited to simple bites like biscuits or packaged snacks, so don’t plan on a full meal before a 12:30 flight. Think caffeine hit plus a quick nibble rather than a sit-down breakfast.

Service is counter-only and fairly quick, especially outside the 07:00–09:00 and 18:00–21:00 domestic rush windows. There’s no dedicated seating; you’ll likely end up standing at the side ledge or carrying your drink back toward Gate 8’s waiting area. Payment usually supports cards and UPI along with cash, which helps if you’re spending down small rupee notes before a 23:00 departure.

Tip: if your boarding pass shows a gate higher than 20 in T1, grab your Hatti Kaapi here near Gate 8 before you walk down the long concourse; options get thinner and more expensive farther out.
