Early flyers hit Costa Coffee before T1 security
On the landside of Rajiv Gandhi International’s T1, Costa Coffee sits in the public area, so you can meet someone here even if you’re not flying. That landside location also means you should keep an eye on security wait times; during morning peaks around 06:00–09:00, don’t linger too long over your drink.
This is a standard Costa setup: hot espresso drinks, iced coffees, and basic snacks at typical airport pricing, often a bit higher than city branches in Hyderabad. Expect the usual range of cappuccinos, lattes, and Americanos, plus seasonal specials when they’re running. If you just need a caffeine hit before a domestic T1 departure, this is one of the first recognizable brands you’ll see from the main entrance area.
Food here skews light: packed sandwiches, small pastries, and grab‑and‑go items in a refrigerated case. Portions tend to be single‑serve, so don’t plan on this as your only meal before a long HYD–DEL or HYD–BOM sector. It works better as a quick bite with your coffee than as a full sit‑down lunch.
Because it’s in T1’s public zone, Costa Coffee often pulls both passengers and people waiting for arrivals, especially around peak domestic bank times on IndiGo and Air India flights. Seating can fill up fast and power outlets are limited, so this is not the most reliable place to camp with a laptop for an hour.
Practical tip: buy your drink here if you like Costa’s specific beans, but time it so you’re heading to the T1 security line with at least 45 minutes before boarding; you don’t want to be finishing a latte while your gate is already calling final passengers.
