Slice prices here feel like resort-level, not Terminal 1 food-court
Pizzeria sits airside in Terminal 1 at Hurghada (HRG) and pulls a weak 2-star average in recent reviews. Think thin-crust slices held under heat lamps, sold by the slice or as a whole pie, aimed at people 30 minutes from boarding and out of options. Travellers note cheese and basic pepperoni-style toppings only, nothing like the better pizza you see in town along Sheraton Road.
Opening hours roughly track flight waves, so it’s usually open from early-morning departures through late-evening charter banks, but don’t expect a full menu at quiet times. Prices run closer to resort buffet add-ons than to Hurghada city pizzerias; comments mention kids sharing one large slice instead of two individual portions to keep the bill under control. Card payment tends to work, but always have some Egyptian pounds or a backup card in case the terminal glitches.
Quality gets hit hard in reviews: “nothing special and definitely tourist prices” is how one TripAdvisor user described their slices, and others go harsher, calling the base “cardboard-like.” Slices are usually pre-made, then reheated when you order, so you’re not waiting 15 minutes for a fresh pie but you trade that speed for limp crust and flat tomato sauce. Portion size on a single slice can be decent for a child but light for a hungry adult after a 4-hour hotel transfer.
Regular HRG flyers on Facebook say they eat at the hotel 2–3 hours before airport pickup, then skip Pizzeria completely. Families who do buy here often split one or two slices between children, then grab water from a nearby kiosk to avoid extra combo charges. Some only queue at Pizzeria when Burger King in Terminal 1 has a packed line stretching 15–20 people deep around peak UK and German departures.
Tip: If you’re on an evening flight out of Terminal 1, eat a proper meal at the resort, then treat Pizzeria as a last-resort snack, not as dinner.
