Most “VIP Parking” at HRE sits behind security escorts and ribbons
At Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, VIP Parking exists mainly as a secured area tied to government motorcades and protocol vehicles, not a public product you can book on a website or app. It sits closest to the main terminal frontage used for official arrivals and departures, with police and airport security controlling access at the barrier. If you’re driving yourself to the International terminal expecting a purchasable premium bay called “VIP Parking,” you likely won’t see a sign with public tariffs.
Think of it as protocol parking attached to the International side rather than an upgrade from the regular car park. On videos from state media, you can see sedans and SUVs pulling directly up to the glass façade while standard taxis and private cars are held farther back near the main public parking rows. That front strip and the cordoned-off bays nearest the entrance are normally tied to government convoys, diplomatic plates, or pre-cleared meet-and-greet services.
There are no published prices, online booking links, or credit-card pay machines visible in the VIP zone shown in recent 2024 clips, which is a strong hint that any access runs through protocol offices or airport management rather than an open premium product. If a hotel or meet-and-greet operator at HRE mentions “VIP parking” in their package, they’re almost certainly talking about pre-arranged access to that secured front area, not a standalone parking product you can independently reserve.
Practical tip: If you’re a regular passenger using the International or Domestic terminal, plan to use the standard public car park and budget extra time to walk the 3–6 minutes to check-in; treat “VIP Parking” as restricted government/protocol space unless you have explicit written clearance mentioning it by name.
