Above gate G3 in T2, this United Club is the backup play.

The United Club sits on level 3 of Terminal 2’s Diamond Head Concourse, directly above gates G2 and G3, and most Star Alliance regulars treat it as a secondary option to the ANA Lounge down the pier. You reach it via the escalator between gates G2 and G3, then turn straight toward the club doors behind the escalators.

This is a post-security lounge in Terminal 2, handy for G‑gates on United, but ANA’s lounge often wins for food and atmosphere in FlyerTalk comparisons. Access follows standard United rules: United Polaris and other Star Alliance international business passengers, Star Alliance Gold, United Club members, plus certain partner programs like Air Canada Maple Leaf Club and Amtrak Guest Rewards Select Plus/Executive get in.

There’s no day pass pricing posted for HNL, so assume normal United Club policy applies and verify at the desk if you’re trying to use a one-time pass from the app. Reviews call the space “very pleasant,” with enough seating for HNL’s mostly leisure bank, but this is not a big mainland hub club and it can feel tight around the late-night departures to the West Coast.

Food is basic by Star Alliance standards at HNL; FlyerTalk posters repeatedly say “ANA is better than the UC HNL” on the snack and hot-item front. Many United flyers just grab a drink here, maybe a light bite, then drop down to the concourse for a proper meal from Terminal 2 vendors before boarding.

Drinks follow the usual United Club pattern: house beer, wine, and basic spirits comped, with a paid menu for better liquor if stocked. Wi‑Fi is solid enough for email and streaming, and a few travelers specifically mention using the club as a quiet spot to work while watching airfield operations through the windows.

Regulars with Star Alliance status often walk to the ANA Lounge first, using the United Club only when ANA hours don’t line up with flights or when they’re departing right at gates G2–G5. Some flyers even split the stay: ANA for food, United Club for a last drink and closer proximity to a United departure at G3.

Practical tip: If you care about better hot food and have time, budget an extra 10–15 minutes to detour to ANA, then head back and use this United Club as your gate-adjacent final stop before boarding at G3.
