T1’s Matsumoto Kiyoshi is your last-minute drugstore stop
On the domestic side in Terminal 1, Matsumoto Kiyoshi gives you a proper Japanese drugstore run without leaving the concourse. It’s post-security in T1, so you can pick up items after clearing the morning rush and before a JAL hop up to Sapporo or down to Fukuoka. Expect the familiar blue-and-yellow signage and aisles packed tighter than most airport shops.
Think everyday pharmacy plus travel extras: painkillers, cold meds, bandages, basic cosmetics, sheet masks, and snacks, all at normal Tokyo-style chain pricing rather than tourist-trap markups. You’ll see a lot of under-¥1,000 skincare and cosmetics, plus travel-size toiletries that fit in a carry-on liquids bag. Staff usually bag items quickly and are used to people cutting it close for 10:00–12:00 departures.
Japanese OTC meds have strict labeling, so keep the box if you’re catching a 12-hour flight later from T3 and might need to check ingredients against your own prescriptions.
