Cell Phone Lot

Free waiting area

$0 per day so you don’t get ticketed at the curb

Airport police at GSP’s Main terminal enforce active loading only at the curb, so the Cell Phone Lot is the airport’s official free alternative. It’s a short drive from the terminal and costs $0.00 per day, meant for quick pickup waits instead of looping past arrivals ten times.

This is a free waiting area, not long-term parking. Signs and the airport rules say you must stay with your vehicle in the Cell Phone Lot, so don’t park here and walk into the Main terminal. Think of it as a legal place to sit with the engine off while you watch for the “I’ve got my bag” text.

GSP’s own parking info points drivers to the Cell Phone Lot and tells you to pull to the curb only when your passenger is ready to walk out of the Main terminal doors. That timing matters because unattended cars at the arrivals curb can be ticketed and subject to tow, and officers do patrol.

There’s no ticket pulled, no gate arm, and no payment machine at this lot, so entry and exit take seconds. The tradeoff: no shuttles, no walking path into the Main terminal, and no leaving the car. It’s strictly a short-term holding zone for live pickups.

Practical tip: have your passenger send the “standing outside at arrivals” text before you leave the Cell Phone Lot; by the time you drive the couple of minutes to the Main terminal curb, they should already be waiting, and you avoid any argument with airport police over idle time.
