EV Charging Parking

Electric vehicle

15–30 minutes from all GRU terminals

EV Charging Parking at São Paulo–Guarulhos (GRU) is set up for electric cars only, so don’t plan to leave a combustion car here. You’re roughly a 15–30 minute walk or shuttle ride from Terminals 1, 2, and 3 depending on the exact sector and traffic at the time.

This lot focuses on charging first, parking second. Stalls include dedicated EV chargers, typically split between slower AC posts for long stays and a limited number of faster units for top-ups of under 90 minutes. Expect to plug into Type 2 or CCS formats common in Brazil; check your car’s connector before booking.

Access usually runs 24/7 in line with GRU’s terminal hours, which means you can plug in for red-eyes leaving after 23:00 or early arrivals around 05:00. Payment normally follows the standard airport parking model by hour or by 24-hour block, with an added fee where fast DC charging is available. Bring a physical credit card; some on-site machines still ignore Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Security matches other official GRU car parks, with cameras and patrols covering the EV rows. Lighting around the chargers tends to stay bright all night, which helps when you’re plugging in at 02:00 after a GRU–GIG turn. Still, don’t leave laptops visible on the back seat; treat it like any other Brazilian airport parking area.

Plan your charge around your flight time. If you’re parking 3–5 days and your car has a 60–70 kWh battery, use a slower AC post and let it fill gradually rather than occupying a fast charger all week. Snap a photo of your row number and nearest terminal sign before you head to security so you’re not wandering the lot after a 10-hour GRU–LHR return.
