Short-Term Parking

Surface lot

$1 for the first 30 minutes gets you closest to T

Short-Term Parking sits directly in front of Gainesville Regional’s T terminal, with a single entrance on the east side of the main lot. It’s a surface lot, so you park and walk; no shuttle, no waiting. For quick airport runs, you’re at the terminal doors in a couple of minutes, even from the far end of the rows.

Rates step up in simple blocks: 0–30 minutes is $1, 30–60 minutes is $2, and the meter keeps climbing by the posted increments until you hit the daily max of $14 after 6 hours. After that, it’s capped at the daily rate, so you never pay more than $14 in a calendar day in this lot.

The airport tells departing passengers to arrive about two hours before their flight to leave time to park, check in, and clear security at T. If you’re dropping someone off and want to walk them in, budget an hour or so of parking at $2 instead of looping the terminal road or waiting in the cell phone area.

  • Payment setup: You can pay with cash or credit card at the pay station in baggage claim, but exit gates only take credit cards, so don’t count on bills at the gate arm.
  • Best use case: Pickups where you want to meet at baggage claim, quick business trips under 24 hours, or same-day flights where $14 is worth being directly across from T.

Tip: If you’ll stay under 30 minutes, watch your clock; that $1 half-hour in Short-Term beats circling the terminal road three times.
