Subway

£4–£6 gets you a made-to-order sub in Terminal 1

Subway sits airside in Glasgow Airport’s Terminal 1, so you’re fine grabbing a sandwich after security with a domestic or most short-haul departure. It runs typical high-street pricing, with 6-inch subs usually in the £4–£6 range and footlongs around £7–£9 depending on fillings and meal deals.

Expect the standard Subway line-up: Italian B.M.T., Steak & Cheese, Meatball Marinara, Veggie Delite, plus the usual bread choices and salad toppings. You can get basic filter coffee, soft drinks, and bottled water alongside your sandwich, which works if you’re skipping the pricier sit-down spots elsewhere in T1.

Service pace tracks airport traffic: at the Terminal 1 morning bank (roughly 06:00–09:00), queues can form but tend to move steadily since it’s mostly grab-and-go orders. Outside of those peaks and the 16:00–19:00 evening window, you’re often in and out in under 10 minutes, even with a toasted sub.

If you’re trying to keep things lighter before a 2–3 hour hop to Europe, a 6-inch on wheat with extra salad keeps it under control, especially compared to fried options nearer the main T1 departure lounge. For something more filling before an evening flight, a footlong with a drink and crisps easily carries you through boarding and the first drink service.

There’s limited perch-style seating close by, but most people take their subs to the gate areas around Terminal 1’s main concourse. Wrapping travels well, so you can comfortably carry a footlong to a stand like gate 24 without it falling apart.

Practical tip: order cold cuts or chicken tikka if your gate calls boarding in under 10 minutes; toasted meatball or steak can slow things down when the toaster queue backs up at busy T1 departure waves.
