Barburrito

Gate-side burritos in Terminal 1

Beside departures in Terminal 1, Barburrito covers the fast-Mex slot at Glasgow Airport with made-to-order burritos, bowls, and tacos. It sits landside near the main check-in area for T1, so you can grab food before security if you’re meeting someone or arriving early. Turnaround is usually under 10 minutes even when there’s a small lunchtime queue.

Expect high-street pricing: a standard burrito usually lands around the £8–£10 mark once you add protein and salsa, and soft drinks hover near £2–£3. Portions run large enough that one burrito or bowl works as a full meal before a 2–3 hour flight. Kids can split a burrito and still leave room for snacks on board.

The menu follows the usual Barburrito setup: choose a base (burrito, naked bowl, tacos), then pick fillings like grilled chicken, pulled pork, or veggie chilli, plus rice, beans, salsa, and extras. Spice tops out at their hottest salsa, so if you’re flying long-haul from T1 and don’t love heat, stick with mild or medium. Guacamole and extra cheese add £1–£2 but can easily push the total over £12.

Service hours track typical Terminal 1 flight banks, generally opening early morning around the first wave of 06:00–07:00 departures and running through the evening departures bank. If you land after the last inbound around 22:30, don’t count on it being open. Seating is limited to a few tables plus counter spots, so at peak 17:00–19:00 it often becomes more of a take-away stop than a sit-down meal.

Practical tip: if your flight leaves from a far T1 gate, allow at least 10–15 minutes after ordering to clear security and walk; grab your burrito to go and eat airside rather than risking a rushed boarding call at the gate screens.
