M&S Food to Go

1

Gate-side M&S sandwiches beat plane snacks every time

M&S Food to Go in Terminal 1 sits airside after security at Glasgow Airport, so you can grab proper food right before your gate. Think classic M&S meal deal sandwiches, wraps, sushi packs, salads, crisps and chocolate bars, all at normal UK high-street pricing rather than inflated airport-only numbers. The self-checkout tills usually move faster than the main WHSmith queue in T1.

Because it runs from early morning to late evening in Terminal 1, you can use it for a 06:00 departure breakfast or a 21:00 flight home snack. Coffee, teas and soft drinks are in the same chiller banks as the juices, so you can build a full meal in under two minutes. Expect the usual M&S packaging and dating, with clear use-by times printed on every item, which helps if you want something safe to eat mid-connection at 14:00.

Pricing stays in the normal M&S range: meal deals come in several pounds cheaper than most sit-down spots in T1, and you can walk out with a sandwich, crisps and drink for under £7 instead of paying £15+ for a pub burger. If you need gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan options, they sit in clearly marked sections of the fridges, next to standard BLTs and chicken wraps. Bottled water in 500 ml and 1 litre sizes lines the bottom shelves, handy for longer flights over 3 hours.

You will not get hot mains or made-to-order items here; everything is pre-packed and grab-and-go. On busy mornings around 07:00–09:00, popular sandwiches like the prawn mayo and chicken & bacon sometimes sell out, leaving mainly cheese or egg options. Stock usually looks best before 13:00; later in the day you see more gaps on the shelves and fewer salad choices.

Tip: if your gate shows as 1–9 in Terminal 1, stop at M&S Food to Go right after security, because there are fewer food options once you walk down to the far end of the pier.
