T1

Gate area T1 shop for last‑minute duty free at FUE

Canariensis Duty Free sits airside in Terminal T1, just past security, so you can walk straight from check-in to shopping without going back landside. It’s the main duty free option at Fuerteventura Airport, covering the usual liquor, perfume, skincare, snacks and cigarettes in one loop before the gates.

Spirits and liqueurs often price out better than in town, especially on 1L bottles compared to 0.7L supermarket sizes, so do a quick mental math check before you skip it. Look for multi-buy promos on rum and whisky, and check the shelf labels closely; they sometimes mix tax-free and regular pricing on the same shelf.

The cosmetics and fragrance section runs heavy on big European brands, with frequent 2-for-1 or 20% off counters marked in English and Spanish. If you care about trying testers, head there first; staffing can be thin during mid-day waves when multiple flights out of T1 board within 60 minutes.

For food, you’ll find Canarian goat cheese, local sauces like mojo, and standard travel chocolate bars up to 400g sizes. Snack prices sit a bit above supermarket levels, but still beat on-board menus on many carriers by a few euros for similar chocolate and nut mixes.

Tobacco shoppers get cartons positioned near the exit, with clear allowance signs for EU vs non‑EU flights from T1, which cuts down on guesswork. If you’re not buying, that exit path is also the fastest way through the store to the gates.

Tip: If your flight from T1 boards by bus, leave Canariensis Duty Free 25 minutes before departure time so you don’t hit the long queue at the downstairs passport or boarding check.
