Car Hire Parking

Rental car area

Arrivals at T1 to car keys in about 3 minutes

Car Hire Parking at Fuerteventura Airport sits directly outside T1, set up as the on-airport rental village rather than a public long-stay lot. You walk roughly 3 minutes from arrivals to the hire-car rows, with no shuttle and no extra road crossing beyond the main forecourt. Signs for “Alquiler de coches” point you toward a fenced section separate from the main AENA P1 car park.

Arrivals are on the lower level of the terminal, and the rental desks line up inside T1, so you sort paperwork indoors before heading out to the Car Hire Parking bays. Most major brands group their vehicles in clearly numbered rows, usually marked by company boards and zone letters. This is a pure rental car area; locals use P1 for private parking, not these hire bays.

The entire layout feels tuned for short walks: P1 sits beside the terminal, and Car Hire Parking sits beside P1, which keeps the total distance from baggage belt to car at about 200–300 meters. There’s no barrier ticketing for you to deal with inside the hire compound itself; the rental company handles entry and exit using their own tags or remote barriers.

Tip: when you drop off, follow the “Rent a Car / Devolución coches” signs as soon as you see the terminal on the FV-2; don’t dive into AENA P1 by mistake or you’ll end up looping back around the access roads and wasting 5–10 minutes.
