Old Sky Lounge maps to Plaza Premium at the far end of D

If your Priority Pass app still shows “Sky Lounge, Terminal 2, D-Gates,” treat it as out of date: the old Sky Lounge space at the very end of Concourse D in Terminal 2 reopened on 1 June 2022 as a Plaza Premium Lounge tied mainly to Delta One access. Flyers on the ground report that the former walk‑up Priority Pass model is gone, even though some airline and lounge listings still reference the Sky Lounge name.

The original Sky Lounge listing said Terminal 2, D-Gates, Priority Pass access, but current first‑hand reports from D gates make it clear that day‑of entry is now restricted and linked to premium tickets like Delta One instead of generic lounge memberships. One FlyerTalk user tried to follow the old Sky Lounge instructions and ended up at a Plaza Premium door with staff confirming it was no longer a Priority Pass option.

Inside the ex‑Sky Lounge space in T2 D, the complaint isn’t seating or layout but the food: travelers describe “mostly absent” options, calling out a basic spread of soft drinks, beer, wine, pretzels and Kit Kat bars rather than hot dishes or real meals. One Delta One passenger described walking the full length of D, reaching the lounge, and then deciding to eat in the terminal because the snack table couldn’t pass for dinner.

Regulars out of FRA T2 now treat Sky Lounge references as code for the Plaza Premium lounge at the end of D and plan their food strategy around it, often grabbing a proper plate in the public areas before heading to the lounge for Wi‑Fi and drinks only. Flyers in that FlyerTalk thread suggest budgeting an extra 10–15 minutes to backtrack from the far D‑gates if you decide the pretzels and candy bar setup won’t cut it.

Watch out for the mismatch between Delta’s marketing and reality: even after the 1 June 2022 switch, some Delta materials still mentioned Sky Lounge plus Priority Pass at Frankfurt, which led several travelers in that same thread to show up with membership cards that no longer scan. Before banking on lounge time in Terminal 2, confirm current access rules with Delta or Plaza Premium, and have a backup plan to eat in the main D concourse.
