Hotel shuttle

Many Fortaleza hotels run shuttles to and from T1

Several mid-range and upscale hotels in Fortaleza offer free or paid shuttle service to Pinto Martins International Airport’s T1, usually timed around common flight banks between 06:00 and 23:00. Most of these shuttles are pre-booked, not walk-up, so you normally arrange them when you reserve the room or at least 24 hours before landing.

Hotel shuttles pick up and drop off on the public arrivals curb outside T1, about a 2–3 minute walk straight out from the baggage claim doors. You won’t see a unified “hotel shuttle” stand; instead, drivers hold printed signs or branded tablets with hotel logos such as “Praiano Hotel” or “Gran Mareiro” and wait near the main exit doors.

Expect shuttle intervals in Fortaleza to run around 30–60 minutes, not every 10 minutes like big hub airports. Some hotels group runs to match LATAM and GOL banks, so a single van might leave the airport 30 minutes after a 10:20 or 22:40 arrival. If your flight time changes, call or WhatsApp the hotel’s front desk using the number on your confirmation.

Pricing varies: quite a few beachfront hotels include the shuttle in the nightly rate, while others charge in the R$30–R$60 range per person, each way, which can still beat a solo taxi fare into Meireles or Iracema. Ask if the charge is per room or per passenger; some properties quietly calculate per head and that adds up for groups of three or four.

Most hotel shuttles are standard 8–15 seat vans with limited luggage space in the rear, so if you show up with two surfboards or four 32 kg checked bags, tell the hotel in advance. In peak Brazilian holiday periods like late December and early January, some guests report standing-room-only vans on the 25–30 minute ride from T1 to beachfront areas.

For late-night arrivals after 23:30, a few hotels stop shuttle runs entirely and switch guests to pre-booked taxis or app rides from T1, billed back to the room. Before you fly, confirm the hotel’s last shuttle departure time from the airport in writing, not just verbally, so you’re not stuck arranging backup transport at midnight.

Practical tip: Once you clear customs in T1 and reach the arrivals hall, connect to the airport Wi‑Fi, message the hotel on WhatsApp, and ask exactly where the driver is parked and what vehicle plate to look for; it saves 10–15 minutes of wandering the curb.
