Remote Parking

€8 per day gets you into Remote Parking at FNC.

This is the airport’s off-site Remote Parking lot, about 1 mile from Terminal T1. Pricing is simple: €8.00 per day or a capped rate of €56.00 for a week, which undercuts the closer options if you’re gone more than a couple of days.

On foot, it’s roughly a 15-minute walk from the lot to the main terminal entrance at T1. That works if you pack light and the Madeira weather cooperates, but it’s a slog with big bags or in heavy rain and wind.

The airport runs a shuttle from Remote Parking with a ride time of about 10 minutes. Official guidance is to allow up to 20 minutes between shuttles, so build in a 30–35 minute buffer from locking your car to reaching security in T1.

For stays of 7 days or more, the weekly rate of €56.00 beats paying the daily rate at closer car parks, especially if you don’t mind the extra 1-mile separation and shuttle dependency. Short trips of one or two days gain less from the discount once you factor in time.

There’s no published fast-track or priority service tied to Remote Parking, and the shuttle timing (10-minute ride, 20-minute headway) can pinch tight departures. Landings after midnight may see fewer buses, so expect longer waits.

Practical tip: if you have a morning flight out of T1, park in Remote Parking and aim to be locking your car at least 60 minutes before check-in closes to cover the walk or shuttle plus any security queues.
