5-minute walk from T1, with both short and long stay
Car Park 6 at Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport (FNC) sits by Terminal T1 and works for both short and long stays, so you can leave the car for a few hours or for a full week without moving it. It’s an official airport car park, so you stay inside the main airport road system and follow the standard FNC signage to "P6" once you reach the terminal area.
This is an outdoor car park, which matters in Madeira’s Atlantic weather, so factor in rain and wind on the roughly 5-minute walk to the T1 departures entrance. If you land late at night, the walk back across the car park is lit, but still open-air, so keep a jacket handy in winter months when temperatures can dip below 15°C after dark.
Car Park 6 works both for quick drop-and-go stops and for longer trips of 3–7 days or more, so you don’t have to switch lots if your plans change. You enter via a standard ticket barrier, then pay at the machines in the terminal or at the exit, with pricing set by the airport alongside the other numbered car parks on site at FNC.
Because Madeira Airport has only one main terminal, T1, you don’t worry about picking the wrong building; from Car Park 6 you always walk to the same departures area for all airlines, including major carriers flying to Lisbon and mainland Europe. Arrivals and departures share the same overall terminal complex, so your return walk to the car is simple as long as you remember the P6 signs and your row.
Tip: snap a quick photo of your Car Park 6 row number and the closest pedestrian exit to T1 as soon as you park, so finding the car after a late-night landing at FNC takes under two minutes.
