Librairie Antillaise

Gate A-side bookstore with local Caribbean titles in stock

Librairie Antillaise sits airside in Terminal A, past security, so you can grab reading material after check-in without backtracking. It’s one of the few spots at FDF focused almost entirely on books and magazines rather than souvenirs. Expect French-language stock first, with Caribbean literature and regional history that you won’t find at a generic relay stand.

The shop typically opens in the morning to match early departures from Terminal A and stays open through the afternoon bank of flights; if you’re on a late-evening departure, don’t count on it being open past around 19:00–20:00. Prices run a bit higher than downtown Martinique bookshops, but are in line with other airport retailers, with paperbacks generally starting in the €10–€15 range.

Inventory leans heavily to novels, children’s books and glossy magazines, plus some last-minute stationery like pens and simple notebooks. You’ll see local authors and Caribbean-focused titles mixed in with big French bestsellers, so it’s a good spot to grab something specific to the region instead of another generic thriller. There’s usually a small selection of travel guides covering Martinique and neighboring islands near the entrance.

Cards are widely accepted, including major credit cards; keep a €10 note handy if you want to move faster than chip-and-PIN during a boarding rush. Stock turns over more quickly during school holidays and around Christmas, so if you have a particular book in mind, stop here right after security rather than waiting until boarding is called.
