La Case à Glaces

Gate A area ice cream stop with local flavors

La Case à Glaces sits airside in Terminal A at Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport, a short walk from the main departure gates. It’s a simple counter setup, so think grab-and-go rather than a sit-down meal. You’re here for something cold and sweet before a flight, not a full lunch.

Portions run generous for an airport stand, with single scoops usually enough unless you’re really hungry before a 4–5 hour long-haul. Expect pricing in the typical airport range: a scoop costs more than in town, but still reasonable for FDF. You pay at the counter and walk off with a cone or cup in under five minutes when it’s quiet.

The win here is flavor. La Case à Glaces often leans into Caribbean-style choices like coconut and tropical fruits alongside basics like vanilla and chocolate. If you spot passionfruit, coconut, or guava in the freezer, those are usually the better call than yet another standard chocolate scoop you could get at CDG or MIA.

Think of this as a dessert add-on to something more substantial elsewhere in Terminal A, not your only food stop before a 3-hour regional hop. There’s no real seating of its own; you’ll end up at the nearest general waiting area seats or just eating at the gate. That’s fine for a quick cone between boarding calls, but not great if you’re juggling two carry-ons.

Payment is usually straightforward with cards accepted like most airport vendors in FDF, but it’s smart to have a few euros handy in case a terminal glitches. Lines spike just after large departures close boarding, around the top of the hour; swing by 30–40 minutes before your flight time to avoid a last-minute queue.

Tip: If you’re tight on time, order a cup instead of a cone so you can set it down quickly when boarding for your flight from Terminal A starts.
