Pickup for Airport Private Transfer Services is outside T1 arrivals

Cars meet you directly outside Terminal 1 arrivals at Faro Airport, usually in the signed “Meeting Point” area about 30–50 meters from the exit doors. Drivers track inbound flights and adjust pickup time if your flight is early or up to 1–2 hours late. You ride in a standard car or minivan, typically with air conditioning and space for at least one suitcase and one cabin bag per person.

Most Faro private transfers run 24/7, so you can book for a 03:00 or a 23:30 landing without hunting for a taxi. For central Faro, one-way fares on prebooked cars usually fall in the €20–€30 range for up to 3–4 passengers. For longer runs to Albufeira or Vilamoura, prices jump to roughly €40–€70 depending on distance and vehicle size. Daytime and late-night rates are often the same when booked in advance.

Pickup timing is simple: for Schengen arrivals with hand luggage only, booking the driver 30–40 minutes after scheduled landing at FAO usually works. Add bags and non-EU passport checks, and you want 45–60 minutes from wheels down to curbside. If you’re landing on a busy Saturday in August, pad that to 60 minutes minimum from touchdown to your transfer time.

Most operators accept online prepayment by card and send confirmation emails within minutes, often with the car type and license plate or driver name listed. Some still offer cash payment in euros on arrival, but that usually needs to be selected at booking, and smaller outfits sometimes ask for a 10–20% deposit. Receipts are typically emailed, which helps if you need to claim back €40–€80 in transport costs from an employer.

Child seats are available with many Faro private transfer companies if requested at least 24 hours in advance, and some include the first seat free while charging €5–€10 per extra seat. If you’re in a group of 5–8, book a minivan instead of two cars; the total price is often only €10–€15 more than a standard sedan. Surfboards and golf bags usually fit, but operators might add a small supplement if you show up with 2–3 oversized items unannounced.

One last tip: when you exit T1 baggage claim at Faro, skip the first crowded stretch of drivers right at the sliding doors and walk 20–30 meters further along the barrier; it’s easier to spot your name board and keeps you out of the tight cluster around the earliest signs.
