Meter starts at the arrivals curb outside Terminals A and B

Yellow Cab of El Paso lines up at the lower-level arrivals curb outside both Terminal A and Terminal B at El Paso International Airport, so you can walk out with bags and be in a cab in under 2–3 minutes if there’s no queue. Cars are standard sedans or minivans with room for 3–4 passengers plus luggage.

Fares run on a standard city meter, starting with an initial drop fee and then per-mile pricing, so a typical ride from ELP to downtown El Paso usually falls in the mid-teens to low-$20 range depending on traffic and route. You pay the driver directly at the end of the ride, and tipping around 15–20% is normal in El Paso.

Cabs operate 24/7, so late arrivals after 23:00 or very early departures around 04:00 still see Yellow Cab cars working the airport loop. During daytime peaks tied to banked flights, you may see 5–10 cars waiting; after midnight, you might wait 5–10 minutes while one circles back from a drop-off.

Yellow Cab is licensed by the City of El Paso, so drivers must display a city-issued permit and the cab number inside the vehicle, and you can see the company name and phone number printed on the doors. If you need a receipt for a work trip claim, ask the driver at the end and they will write one with the meter total and cab number.

Payment is usually cash or card; many Yellow Cab cars carry a card terminal that accepts common credit and debit cards like Visa and Mastercard, but older units sometimes have a “cash only” sign taped near the dashboard. If card is a must, ask the dispatcher at the curb or confirm with the driver before you load bags into the trunk.

1) Deplane and follow the “Ground Transportation / Taxi” signs down one level to the arrivals curb. 2) Exit near baggage claim for your airline in Terminal A or B and walk to the signed taxi stand. 3) Join the line and wait for the curb marshal or first free Yellow Cab; this usually takes under 5 minutes during the day. 4) Tell the driver your exact address or hotel name before pulling away so they can pick the quickest I-10 or surface-street route. 5) At your destination, wait for the meter to stop, pay in cash or card, add tip, and grab a paper receipt if you need one.

One tip: before leaving the curb, snap a quick photo of the cab number and license plate in case you later realize a laptop or bag stayed in the trunk.
