Cashmere scarves here cost less than in central Edinburgh
Brora sits airside in Edinburgh Airport’s departures, after security and before the main duty free loop. It’s a Scottish brand, so you’re getting local knitwear rather than generic travel retail stuff. Expect cashmere scarves and hats starting around mid double digits in pounds, with jumpers climbing into the low hundreds. If you wanted a “made in Scotland” label without running around Princes Street, this is your last easy stop before the gate.
The shop focuses on knitwear and simple fashion pieces rather than full outfits. You’ll see rails of cashmere jumpers, lambswool cardigans, and fair isle styles in standard UK sizes, plus a small table of accessories near the entrance. Stock skews seasonal: thicker knits and hats in winter, lighter cotton pieces and linen in summer, but cashmere is on offer all year. If you just need a warmer layer for a late flight, one jumper here is still cheaper than buying a random hoodie landside later.
Opening hours track early departures, with shutters usually up from around 04:00 through the late afternoon bank of flights; evenings can be hit or miss after about 19:00. Prices are full RRP, not duty free, but promotions pop up around major holidays and during January sales. If you’re picky about colour, plan on 5–10 minutes to scan the racks; stock depth isn’t huge, and the best neutrals tend to go first on busy Friday mornings.
Practical tip: if you’re already at gates 1–9, walk past the main duty free route once and you’ll see Brora on the concourse side, so you can be in and out in under 10 minutes without losing sight of the gate screens.
