RBS logos used to sit over lounge doors at Scottish airports
At Edinburgh Airport’s main terminal, though, there is currently no Royal Bank of Scotland Lounge operating airside or landside. Current lounge maps for EDI list Aspire, Aspire Lounge & Spa, and British Airways, but nothing under the RBS name, even though the bank still issues branded cards across Scotland.
Most recent guides from 2023–2024 point cardholders to generic lounge access schemes at EDI, not to a dedicated Royal Bank of Scotland Lounge behind security. That means an RBS debit or credit card will not get you into a separate branded space near gates 1–29, unlike how some premium bank products link to specific lounges in London or Manchester.
Historically, RBS-branded lounges appeared at a few Scottish airports in the 2000s, often near domestic gates serving routes to Glasgow, Aberdeen, or Inverness. Those spaces have either been rebranded, absorbed into operators like Aspire, or closed entirely as airports reshaped terminal layouts and concession contracts after 2010.
At Edinburgh specifically, every current lounge access list from major aggregators shows two third‑party lounges in the main terminal, both airside, one close to Gate 4 and one closer to Gate 16. None mention door signage or staff uniforms carrying the Royal Bank of Scotland name, and no recent trip report on frequent‑flyer forums flags an RBS lounge entrance near security or passport control.
If your bank card previously granted entry to an RBS-branded space, plan on using Priority Pass, DragonPass, or a pay‑per‑use option instead. Walk‑up pricing at EDI’s third‑party lounges often hovers around £36–£42 per adult, depending on time of day and whether you book online at least 24 hours before your flight.
Watch the wording on your card benefits page: some RBS products mention “lounge access” via a partner network but do not promise an “RBS Lounge” at specific airports. At Edinburgh, that usually means access to an Aspire‑run lounge during its published hours, often from around 04:30 until the last evening departures after 20:00.
Practical tip: before you leave home, search your RBS card’s lounge program by airport code “EDI” and screenshot the result, so if staff at the Aspire desk query your access at 06:00 check‑in, you have proof of eligibility on your phone.
