Gate 16 now carries the Aspire name, not Gate 4

The old Aspire by Gate 4 is now an Escape Lounge, so if your Priority Pass says “Aspire” at Edinburgh, you want the new space near Gate 16 in the main terminal. It sits airside after security, a few minutes’ walk once you clear duty free and head toward the 1–29 pier.

The lounge runs long hours for early departures: doors open at 04:30 every day, closing at 20:00 Sunday to Friday and 19:00 on Saturday. That catches the first bank of 06:00–07:00 flights and most evening rotations, but it is no use for late-night delays past 20:00, so plan your timing around that cutoff.

Access is straightforward: Priority Pass gets you in, or you can buy a day pass if you don’t hold a membership. Day passes typically cost less than a mid-airport sit-down meal plus drinks, so if you expect to spend an hour or more before a flight from Gate 16 or nearby (14–18), it often works out in your favour.

Food and drink sit in the usual UK lounge zone: hot options at main mealtimes, pastries and cereal at breakfast, plus beer, wine and basic spirits included in the entry price. Think small buffet plates rather than a full restaurant; treat it as fuel before a Ryanair or easyJet hop, not a pre-flight event. If a specific dish matters to you, check the current menu board on arrival because line-ups change during the day.

Seating splits between tables near the buffet and softer chairs along the windows facing the apron toward stands around Gate 16. Power outlets can be patchy in older UK lounges, so pick a seat, then immediately check for a socket before you unpack your laptop. Wi‑Fi in Aspire lounges usually runs off the airport’s network, so expect similar speeds to the main terminal but with fewer people sharing it.

Practical tip: if your gate prints as 1–9, you’re at the opposite end of the pier from Gate 16, so leave the lounge about 15 minutes before boarding starts to avoid a rushed walk through the main terminal crowd.
