Concourse A at DXB T3 runs almost 1 km end to end

Terminal 3 is the Emirates and Qantas stronghold at Dubai International Airport, handling all Emirates flights and Qantas services that connect with EK. The terminal is split into Concourses A, B, and C, all linked airside by frequent underground trains and long walkways. Distances are serious here: walking from one end of Concourse A to the far end of Concourse C can easily take 20–25 minutes, even on moving walkways.

Most Emirates A380 departures use Concourse A gates

Concourse A is built around the A380, with dual-level boarding gates and direct access up to the Emirates First Class Lounge and down to the Business Class Lounge. If your boarding pass shows a gate like A10 or A18, plan to stay in this concourse rather than hopping back to B or C. The inter-concourse train from the main T3 immigration hall to Concourse A usually takes under 5 minutes once you’re on board, but waits can add another 5–10 minutes at peak times.

Concourse B is where most people actually spend time

Concourse B sits in the middle of T3 and is the main hub for food and retail. Here you’ll find Burger King near the center, Hard Rock Cafe by one of the mid-piers, and Shake Shack with outlets touching both Concourse A and B areas. Budweiser Bar and the Heineken Lounge are also in Concourse B, with pints often running in the AED 45–60 range. ROOTS and Grind both sit in or near Concourse B, handy if your flight leaves from a B-gate and you don’t want to stray far.

Concourse C handles additional Emirates flights and older gates

Concourse C connects airside to T3 but feels closer in age to Terminal 1. Many Emirates narrow-body and lower-demand wide-body flights depart from C-gates, with walking time from B to the far C gates hitting 15 minutes even with travelators. Food here is thinner, so if you want branded options like Panda Express, TGI Fridays, or Le Pain Quotidien in the concourse area, eat in A or B before you commit to a C-gate stroll.

Emirates First and Business lounges span huge sections of T3

The Emirates First Class Lounge in T3 stretches almost the full length of Concourse A, with direct boarding from the lounge at multiple A-gates. The Emirates Business Class Lounge mirrors this idea across large parts of both A and B. If you have access, you can move between different zones to be closer to gates like A5, B15, or B28 without dropping back into the main concourse. Just watch boarding times: a 30-minute “final call” at A20 still means a 10-minute walk from the far end of the lounge.

Marhaba, Plaza Premium, and Sleep 'n fly cover non-Emirates access

For non-status or non-premium passengers, T3 has the Marhaba Lounge and Plaza Premium Lounge, typically accessible via credit cards or paid entry in the AED 150–250 range, depending on time and demand. The Sleep 'n fly Sleep Lounge offers pod-style rest spaces inside the terminal, with bookings by the hour, useful on DXB’s heavy overnight wave around 01:00–05:00. Check which concourse your lounge is in, as crossing from B to A or C can chew up 15 minutes of rest time.

Dubai Duty Free dominates all three concourses

Dubai Duty Free lines the walkways of T3, especially around the Concourse B core, with liquor, perfumes, and electronics spread across multiple storefronts. Le Clos wine shops sit inside Duty Free zones and along the concourse, with high-end bottles frequently priced in the hundreds of US dollars. Tech options include an Apple Shop, Samsung stores, and Virgin Megastore, while fashion brands like Victoria's Secret, MAC, Chanel, Gucci, Hermes, and others run along the main spines of A and B.

Paul, Giraffe, and Shake Shack cover the mid-range food gap

Paul sits near the mid-range dining cluster in T3, good for coffee and pastries when you don’t want a full sit-down meal; expect coffee around AED 20–25. Giraffe in Concourse B offers all-day menus with mains in the AED 50–80 range, useful if you need real food between long-haul sectors. Shake Shack in the A/B area often has a queue at peak times, and a ShackBurger combo usually lands around AED 50–60.

Boots and WHSmith handle last-minute essentials

Boots branches around T3 stock basic pharmacy items, with travel-sized toiletries and over-the-counter meds handy for long-haul flights over 6–14 hours. WHSmith outlets dot the concourses with snacks, water, and magazines, saving you from Duty Free queues if you just want a 500 ml bottle of water and a snack bar. Prices are airport-marked, so grabbing basics in the city beforehand still saves a few dirhams.

One simple timing rule helps in Terminal 3

Be at the correct concourse 45 minutes before boarding time, not departure time. In T3 the long walks, trains between concourses, and packed security points during the 02:00–04:00 wave can add 15–20 minutes you didn’t plan for, especially if you’re moving from the center of Concourse B to a distant A or C gate like A21 or C27.
