RTA Bus F55

Airport–Ibn Battuta Mall

Airport–Ibn Battuta Mall

F55 runs DWC–Ibn Battuta Mall in about 40–60 minutes

RTA Bus F55 links Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) with Ibn Battuta Mall, running roughly every 30 minutes most of the day. This is the budget move: you pay the standard Dubai Nol card fare instead of taxi rates that can hit triple digits in AED for longer rides. The route connects directly to Ibn Battuta Metro Station on the Red Line, so you plug straight into the city network once you get off the bus.

The stop at DWC sits outside the passenger terminal, signed as the F55 airport bus toward Ibn Battuta. First departures typically roll out early in the morning and continue until late evening, but gaps can stretch beyond 30 minutes at quiet times. Factor in at least 10–15 minutes to walk from arrivals, buy or top up a Nol card at a machine, and find the stand before the bus you want pulls in.

On board, expect standard RTA city-bus setup: front-door boarding, front section for women and children, and space for bags but not full luggage racks. A typical Nol Silver card fare runs in the single-digit AED range per trip, depending on zones crossed. You tap in on entry and tap out at Ibn Battuta Mall, which keeps the charge at the correct zone-based rate instead of defaulting to the maximum.

At the Ibn Battuta end, F55 drops you near the mall and the Metro station on Sheikh Zayed Road (E11). From here, Dubai Metro Red Line trains run toward main stops like Dubai Marina, Mall of the Emirates, and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, with frequencies often around 5–8 minutes at busy times. If you land on a late-night flight, cross-check the last Red Line departure from Ibn Battuta so you do not end up paying for a taxi the final stretch.

RTA sometimes shifts bus timetables during Ramadan, public holidays, or big events at Dubai South, so same-day checks help. Use the official RTA app or journey planner to confirm the next F55 departure time and stop number for DWC. One practical tip: buy or top up your Nol card while still in the terminal so you are not stuck at the curb trying to sort payment as the F55 doors open.
